Screed Moisture Testing Watford
On this multi-story project in Watford, the concrete substrate was tested before bonding a liquid screed.
The results of the test were to determine if a standard premier was sufficient or if a liquid DPM was required.
Knowing the moisture content was critical. If the standard primer was used when the concrete had too higher moisture content, then a failure in the bond was highly likely.
The floor was first assessed using the Tramex CMEX5 meter set to the CM reading. Once the wettest areas had been identified, a calcium carbide test could be used to instantly confirm the screed’s moisture content.
The target moisture content on the CM scale was 2.5% for concrete.
